Our research group at Biobizkaia Health Research Institute welcomes enquiries from motivated researchers interested in joining us.

Predoctoral Candidates

  • Must either hold—or be in the process of obtaining—a Master’s degree.
  • Should have an undergraduate degree and marks over 8/10.
  • Eligible for funding, such as:
    • Basque Government Predoctoral Grants 2025–2026 – open to residents of the Basque Country; [see requirements and details] (Euskadi).
    • FPU programme (Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities).
    • La Caixa” INPhINIT Predoctoral Fellowships.

Postdoctoral Candidates

  • Must have identified a specific call and reviewed its official eligibility criteria (bases) to confirm suitability.

Early-Career Postdocs Seeking Junior PI Positions

If you’re aiming for long-term leadership, we support co-applications for:

  • Ikerbasque Research Fellow 2025 – offering 5-year fellowships toward a PI track; [details and closed call] (ikerbasque.net).
  • Ramón y Cajal Programme – applications expected November–December 2025; [AEI scheduling] (Agencia Española de Innovación).
  • Miguel Servet Programme (ISCIII) – open annually (ISCIII).

ℹ Notes:

  • The 2025 Basque Government pre- and postdoctoral calls are active—check your eligibility early:
    • Predoctoral: call open soon for 2025–2026 (Euskadi)
    • Postdoctoral: applications open in the Basque Postdoc Programme 2025–2028 (Euskadi)
  • For ISCIII programmes (Sara Borrell, Miguel Servet), deadlines were in February–March—past deadlines but helpful as reference for next editions (Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovaciónaes2025.imib.es).
  • AEI programmes like Juan de la Cierva and Ramón y Cajal are expected to open November–December  (Agencia Española de Innovación).
